Clubs & Organizations

Members get to participate in fun activities like painting, drawing, and sculpting while developing their skills and expressing themselves artistically. The art club fosters a supportive environment that encourages exploration and experimentation in the exciting world of visual arts.

Art club meets Wednesday afternoons in Room 402 until 4:30. Students must be picked up promptly at 4:30.

In the WOMS Business Club, students will learn concepts of creating a business, getting capital to start a business,  and how to operate it daily.

In Crochet Club, students come together to learn the art of crocheting. This creative and relaxing activity allows students to express themselves through their handmade creations while developing patience and attention to detail. Joining the crochet club is a wonderful way to make new friends and expand your creative skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Beginners and experienced are welcomed! Club meets in Room 116 on Thursday mornings.

Drama club is a fantastic way to express your creativity and make new friends who share your passion for acting. In drama club, you'll have the opportunity to practice improvisation and work on exciting plays. Being part of the drama club can boost your confidence and help you develop skills that will benefit you on and off the stage.

Students interested in after school theater must be in drama club, but are not required to attend every session.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) seeks to engage coaches and athletes to grow in their faith and sport. FCA focuses on the spiritual development of athletes and coaches through meetings and  events. 

Join us in the weight room every Friday morning!

Game Club is a fun club where students can play different types of games such as card games and board games. Our club is all about bringing students together to enjoy games in a fun and welcoming environment. The WOMS Game Club is a great opportunity to make new friends, learn new games, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The club meets both before and after school on Wednesdays.

Join our middle school gardening club and cultivate your love for nature! Whether you're a budding botanist or just want to get your hands dirty, our club offers a fun and educational environment to learn about plants, sustainability, and the environment. From sowing seeds to harvesting vegetables, you'll have the opportunity to nurture green thumbs and cultivate friendships. Let's dig in and grow together in our vibrant garden oasis!

Junior FFA is the extracurricular organization associated with Pre-Agriculture. It is the beginning of a students' career path in Agricultural Education. 8th grade members will be considered "Discovery FFA members".

It is recommended but not mandatory  that students enrolled in Pre-Ag be a part of Jr. FFA. As a WOMS Jr. FFA member, students will be able to apply the skills they learn in the classroom to real world situations. This happens through a variety of ways; such as raising livestock projects, practicing leadership development or competing in judging contests. There is a yearly membership fee of $35 and members will be expected to attend monthly FFA meetings at Porter High School.

Dress Code

Students should wear a solid black T-shirt (there will be Dance shirts for purchase soon), black yoga pants or leggings, black socks, and highly encouraged black jazz shoes! 

Class

We will learn a variety of styles of dance such as ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, tap, precision, world dance, and choreography while also expanding their dance vocabulary and technique.

Performances

We will perform at two pep rallies-one in the fall and one in the spring, the Golden Graces' Spring Show, and at our student choreography showcase. There will be other optional performances as well!

National Junior Honor Society is an organization which recognizes outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship. Members have a responsibility to continue demonstrating these qualities and may do so through a variety of projects, fundraisers, and school/community service. 

Robotics is a club that allows students to build and program multiple types of robots in a fun environment. They will learn valuable skills such as coding, problem-solving, and teamwork as they work on various projects. Our goal is to inspire a love for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields and help students develop the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.

Student Council is a group of elected and volunteer students dedicated to providing service to our school and community.  Student Council members work on such events as school dances, Red Ribbon week and spreading positive morale throughout the school. 

Student Council meets every Monday and/or Wednesday in Room 208 before school.

The yearbook course teaches students yearbook design and composition. Direct application is achieved by creating the school yearbook. Students are instructed in basic photography skills, and student photography is featured in the yearbook.  Students enroll in yearbook as a course during schedule selection in the spring.
