Crystal Mayes

Principal, Middle School

Welcome to White Oak Middle School

Hello, Warrior Nation!

It is a tremendous honor to serve as the principal of White Oak Middle School. As I begin my 24th year in education and my fourth year as principal of WOMS, I remain deeply committed to serving our students, supporting our staff, and partnering with our families to create an exceptional middle school experience.

I earned a Master of Education degree from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational speech communication from Texas State University. I have also completed graduate-level coursework in educational leadership at Texas A&M University.

Throughout my career, I have been privileged to serve as a teacher, instructional specialist, curriculum facilitator, assistant principal, elementary principal, and middle school principal. Each of these experiences has strengthened my belief that all students can achieve academic success and experience meaningful personal growth when they are surrounded by high expectations, strong relationships, and a supportive school community.

Serving New Caney ISD is especially meaningful to me because I grew up in Porter and graduated from the district. It is a full-circle blessing to give back to the community that helped shape who I am today. Outside of school, I value spending time with my family and remaining connected to the community I am proud to call home.

At White Oak Middle School, our mission is to empower all students by focusing on academic achievement and personal growth. We believe every student has the ability to excel in an environment where relationships, respect, and a strong work ethic are the cornerstones of success. Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is Mission Success: One Team, One Mission. This theme reflects our commitment to working together as students, staff, families, and community partners to ensure every Warrior is prepared for success in high school and beyond. Every member of Warrior Nation plays an important role in accomplishing our mission.

We are also proud to live out our Warrior RISE values each day:

Respect • Integrity • Safety • Empathy

Middle school is an exciting time for students to discover new interests, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and grow academically and personally. I encourage families to remain actively involved in their child’s education, communicate regularly with teachers, attend campus events, and support participation in extracurricular activities. These experiences help students build connections, discover their strengths, and develop a lasting sense of belonging.

Thank you for trusting us with the privilege of educating and caring for your child. I look forward to partnering with you as we help every Warrior RISE and work together toward Mission Success.

One Team. One Mission. Mission Success.
