White Oak Middle School Principal
Crystal Mayes
Hello Warriors! I am extremely honored to be your principal at White Oak Middle School. I have a passion to serve. I have been an educator for over 20 years with roles as a teacher, instructional specialist, curriculum facilitator, assistant principal, and most recently, principal at Crippen Elementary for 9 years.
I hope to lead, guide, and inspire our staff while ensuring students are academically prepared for high school and beyond, prepared leaders, and respectful citizens of our community.
Middle School is a great place to discover new things about yourself and try new things! I encourage families to stay involved in their child's education and encourage them to try out for as many extracurricular activities, as you never know what your passion is.
Warriors Rise Up,

Howdy Warrior Families,
It is with great excitement and gratitude to serve as Assistant Principal of White Oak Middle School, primarily working with students last names A-L. As a native Texan, from Sugar Land, TX, I am truly honored to serve in this capacity. I look forward to being a part of Warrior Nation and supporting all students with a safe and positive environment conducive to high levels of learning.
I started my teaching career in 2000. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies degree from the University of Houston and my Masters in School Leadership from Sam Houston State University. In my 20 plus years in education, I have served in a variety of roles and capacities. My educational experience ranges from Classroom Teacher, Dyslexia Teacher, Reading Instructional Coach, Visual Arts Specialist, GT/Reading/Science Curriculum Writer, Summer School Facilitator and 504/Dyslexia Coordinator. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educator and leader to White Oak Middle School and work with you as a partner in education.
I have been married to my best friend and encourager, Coach Tim Jackson, for 20 years. We have three boys (Brandon, Blake, and Buddy-our Goldendoodle)! We love football! Blake plays XFL for the Seattle SeaDragons. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, making precious memories hosting fun themed functions. Another huge supporter is my mother, whom I watch model love, kindness, having a servant’s heart, and compassion towards everyone she meets. In my spare time, this is my 18th year serving as a Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Trailblazer, volunteering and promoting education and literacy by organizing lending libraries, judging writing competitions, and reading to children during the show.
As Assistant Principal, I plan to let love, kindness, having a servant’s heart, and compassion be my guide in providing a safe and positive learning environment for all students. I believe “it takes a village” to ensure student success. Therefore, it is my goal to work diligently to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and teachers to maximize opportunities for our students to thrive.
I am beyond excited and look forward to meeting and working with our Warrior Families as we grow throughout the school year. Let’s goooooooooo WARRIOR NATION! :)
